FIELD-JOINT COATING FOR PIPES
Heat Shrinkable Sleeves
Pipe lengths are typically pre-coated at the mill with three-layer polyolefin systems containing high density polyethylene or polypropylene. A 100-200mm bare steel cutback is left on each pipe end for welding in the field, and eventually these cutback areas will require external coating.
Tabteen CPT is able to mobilize our applicators to remote locations to coat girth weld field joints using the heat shrinkable sleeve method. This corrosion prevention technology helps to provide a homogenous external finish to pipelines used for the transmission of water, oil and gas.
Cold Applied Tape Wrapping
Cold applied tape wrap is used to cover girth weld field joints to protect the asset against corrosion. Application is quick and the product is durable.
Occasionally, this system of corrosion prevention is used to coat the entire pipeline in situ and can protect against a full range of service temperatures and environmental conditions.
Tabteen CPT has the expertise to apply this product at both the shop and in the field.
