INTERNAL COATING
OF PIPES WITH
LIQUID-APPLIED EPOXY
When applied to the internal surface of pipes and fittings, liquid epoxy coatings can be an effective form of corrosion prevention.
This technology offers protection from corrosive chemicals, aggressive oil and gas fluid-transmission, and high temperatures – all of which reduce the longevity of the asset.
Surface Preparation
Prior to applying the epoxy coating to the pipe, it is important to achieve the correct surface profile internally by removing any unwanted contaminates and impurities such as grease, dirt, rust, and mill scale.
Tabteen CPT utilizes high quality surface preparation methods involving blasting equipment that propels abrasive on to the steel wall surface via a spinning head. The result is a homogenous finish throughout that can be tailored to meet the required standard of cleanliness.
Internal Pipe Coating
After surface preparation is complete, specialized coating equipment is selected depending on the size of the pipe (typically 4’’ to 40’’ in diameter). Once operational, the machine travels internally at a variable speed, resulting in an even homogenous film thickness throughout the entire pipe length. Our coating techniques provide an innovative and efficient solution for applying paint to the internal steel substrate without the need to rotate the pipe.
The system can be repeated to cover both two and three coats, respectively.
